Associate Quantity Surveyor

We are looking to build on our success by securing an ambitious Associate level Quantity Surveyor to join our team. 

 

If you are a passionate and focused individual who is looking to progress your career by developing a new skillset within the discipline, this role will include working with the existing cost management teams on private and public sector projects, in particular office, industrial, residential, education and healthcare. You will also be expected to be involved in key client development, financial forecasting, team management and growth.

Role and Responsibilities

  • Work closely with the London management team
  • Work with other Cost Management teams
  • Management of clients and developing further opportunities
  • Hands on delivery of cost management services including:
    • providing advice on contract arrangements and conditions
    • advise on the cost implications of different construction methods, alternative choices of materials and size and quality of the project to ensure that each element is reconciled with the cost plan allowance and the overall project remains within budget
    • Prepare tender / contract documents
    • Manage the costs of projects during the construction stage and negotiate final accounts
  • Represent the business at client meetings
  • Attend networking events
  • Co-ordinate with our in house multi discipline services
  • Client management and development
  • Mentoring junior members of the team

Experience and Skills Required

  • Ideally MRICS qualified
  • Experience of office, industrial and residential sectors ideal
  • Be able to manage your own workload
  • Management of intermediate / junior employees
  • Ability to work remotely, albeit supported by the business and colleagues
  • Good communication and client facing skills
  • A positive ‘can-do’ attitude
  • Excellent all-round technical cost management knowledge
  • Proficient in the use of MS Office, particularly MS Excel
  • Demontrate an enthusiastic and ambitious attitude
