Property Consultant – Survey Manager

Our Property Consultancy team provide strategic advice and guide clients through a full spectrum of property consultancy, housing asset management and compliance related activities. We have an opportunity for a Survey Manager to join our team.  The role would particularly suit an individual from a residential surveying background, with experience of project managing large scale stock condition surveys.  We would however consider other project management experience that would have interchangeable skills that could be applied to our requirements i.e. not necessarily being residential surveying related.

 

Knowledge of mobile electronic data capture systems would be beneficial.

Travel to project related locations is part of the role, mainly within the south of England.

Role and Responsibilities

The role will be focussed on asset management related consultancy services and development of the offering to local authority and housing association clients.  The role will be varied and include the following:

 

  • Assisting and preparing fee proposals and tenders
  • Responding to enquiries from framework providers regarding asset management services
  • Attending related calls/interviews for tendered projects
  • Project set up, QMS and team briefing
  • Taking the lead on the development of the Ridge Asset Performance tool
  • Leading input from other Ridge teams into the RAP tool including stock surveys, compliance, cost consultancy, structural engineering, M&E and sustainability (NZC/energy) etc.
  • Drafting of documents including asset management and procurement strategies for clients
  • Development of asset management related policies, procedures and management plans for clients
  • Undertaking asset performance modelling (including NPV) for clients
  • Developing and prioritising works programmes
  • Co-ordinating with other Ridge teams other investment priorities including NZC (Retrofit)
  • Undertaking asset management function reviews and providing critical friend support
  • Project management and administration
  • Presenting to client stakeholders
  • Report writing and development of action plans
  • Provide asset management advice and support
  • Business development and marketing activities
  • Support and report to the discipline lead/Partner

 

This is not an exhaustive list and the role will develop and be reviewed over time, this is an overview to  provide an insight and how it will integrate with the broader stock survey foundations that are within the team.

Experience and Skills Required

  • Appropriate qualifications such as RICS or CIOB would be highly desirable including knowledge of construction technology relating to residential accommodation.  The role combines work on site as well some office based activities
  • Additional compliance related experience and qualifications e.g. DEA, FPA, NEBOSH, P402/405 would be desirable but not essential
  • A competent user of MS Project would be desirable
  • Attention to detail and a professional demeanour is important.  You will ideally be methodical and have a high level of intellect - combining excellent management and oral skills to ensure projects are delivered to a high quality within agreed timelines

It is anticipated the role will require initial and on-going training in areas where knowledge may be limited and you will be fully supported by Ridge in gaining this expertise
