Retrofit Coordinator

Overview

Location: Winchester

 

This is an opportunity to work with our multidisciplinary team of Project  Managers, Building Surveyors, Services Engineers and Sustainability Engineers to deliver Domestic (and some non-domestic) Retrofit services to assist our clients to deliver their net zero carbon business objectives for their existing stock.

 

The Retrofit Coordinators role is primarily designed to identify, assess, and manage the technical and process risks commonly associated with domestic retrofit projects and is one of the key roles in the delivery of the PAS 2035:2019 process.

Role and Responsibilities

  1. Protect the client’s and the public’s interest, ensuring that projects are safe, high quality and performing to their maximum potential
  2. Oversee the retrofit process from start to finish as a project manager, working closely with Ridge’s in house or external retrofit assessors and designers
  3. Ensure appropriate integration and communication between teams
  4. Where competent to do so, a Coordinator may also fulfil the other specialist roles in the retrofit process. This may also include providing retrofit support and advice on Non-Domestic Retrofit to PAS 2038:2019. Being able to undertake the role of a Retrofit Assessor would be an advantage in this role
  5. Other roles will include:
    • Raising client awareness and staff development
    • Stock assessment
    • Development of strategies from individual properties to whole property portfolios
    • Providing advice on refurbishment interventions, which will respond to client objectives such as improving energy efficiency performance, reducing carbon emissions, reducing fuel bills
    • Supporting the procurement and supervision of retrofit works
    • Monitoring and post occupancy evaluations
    • Grant funding application support
    • Providing support to other members of the team working on other agendas such as fire safety, viability, or sustainability projects
    • Delivery of support services including, tenant energy advice, building energy physics calculations, thermography, and airtightness tests

Experience and Skills Required

  • Registered Retrofit Coordinator
  • A professional qualification such as RICS, RIBA or CIBSE
  • Consultancy experience and/or a background in Public Sector Housing Management at a senior level
  • Experience of using Energy Efficiency modelling software
  • Preferably an understanding or experience of undertaking EPC, SAP, PHPP reports.
  • An analytical mind with a high level of intellect - combining excellent written and oral skills
